Introdcution: Full time 2-year 4-semester M. Tech. Courses in
(i) Electrical Engineering
(ii) Instrumentation and Control Engineering

Eligibility: A candidate having B. E. /B. Tech. Degree in respective subjects or its equivalent from any university / AICTE recognized institute is eligible to apply for admission in the said courses. GATE qualified candidates will be given preference. Final year B.Tech/B.E students are also entitled to submit the application form but admission will only be made subject to production of mark sheet, if selected. For sponsored candidates certificate of sponsorship from the employer should accompany the application. For part time 6-semester evening courses, candidates already in service will be given preference. Certificate of employment should accompany the application of such candidates.

How To Apply:
Separate Application Form to be submitted for each of the courses. Application must be accompany attested copies of all relevant Mark Sheets and Certificates as applicable. For Sponsored Candidates Employer Certificate must be attached to the Application Form Attestation by C.U. Senate/Syndicate Member, any University Teacher/Officer, Principal of any College, any Teacher of a College Affiliated to C.U. or Gazetted Officer are accepted. All documents and photo submitted must be signed by the candidate himself/herself. Hall Ticket for Admission Test (applicable for Non CU candidate only) will be issued at
the time of Submission of Application Form. Alternatively Hall Ticket can be down loaded from website. For Hall Ticket, please bring extra two-stamp size photograph for each admission test. Please paste one self-signed stamp size photograph on the application form. Please write on the reverse of the Demand Draft, the name and the course applied for. Submission of Application Form at Secretary Office, Calcutta University, 92, A.P.C. Rd, Kolkata-700009 between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days (except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays)

Admission Procedure: Admission process for Non C.U candidates includes a written test of about one hour duration, in the general area of respective subjects followed by interview. Questions for the test will be of short answer / MCQ type.

Selection Procedure:
Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit. Gate Qualified Candidates will be given preference. Selection of C.U. Candidates will be strictly on the basis of marks obtained in B.Tech./ M.Sc. subject as the case may be. Gate qualified C.U. candidates will be given preference among the C.U. applicants. Selection from immediately preceding year C.U. candidates would also be made according to merit provided that their lowest marks be tallied with the lowest marks of current year’s candidates selected but the number of such candidates do not exceeding 5% of total seats in the subject concerned. The seats of C.U. candidates remaining vacant after selection following Rule 3 stated above, to be filled up by the candidates passed from C.U. in the last 5 years. Other University candidates (Non C.U.): – 5% of the total number of seats will be filled up through interview. . In case of non-availability of C.U. candidates the same should be filled up by the Non C.U candidates, in such situation 5% of total seat reserved for Non C.U. candidates will be not applicable.

How To Apply:
Prospectus and Application Form can be downloaded from website: http://www.kukinfo.com such Forms must be accompanied DD of  Rs.600/-(Rs.150/- for SC/BC candidates  of Haryana) in favour of Registrar, K.U. payable at Kurukshetra. Candidates whose result of Final Semester/Final Year of the qualifying examination is not declared can also apply and take provisional admission in   M. Tech. programmes on their own responsibility for fulfilling the eligibility. For admission to M. Tech. courses the candidates who have passed GATE with valid score in the concerned subject need not to appear in the Entrance Test.  They will be considered for admission to M.Tech. Courses on the basis of GATE score. If a candidate want to apply more than one M.Tech. Course he will have to submit separate Application Form for each M.Tech. Course.Self attested photocopies of required certificates/DMCs and documents for weightages and photograph duly attested by a Gazetted Officer must be attached with the Admission Form.
