2009/10 National Power Conference on Ambitious mission and major challenges organised by The Associated Chambers of Commerce (ASSOCHAM) in New Delhi

Power being a critically important ingredient for the rapid growth of the economy, has set a challenge as well as opportunities for the entire energy value chain in India. The unprecedented capacity augmentation target in the current plan period, the associated infrastructure and ensuring fuel supplies require active participation of all stakeholders. Towards achieving its objective of power for all by 2012, it is necessary that the power sector develops a holistic approach encompassing fuel availability, equipment manufacturing, T&D infrastructure, skill development as well as financing, last mile accessibility and regulatory issues.
