Photographs of all types, styles, methods and processing, black/white or color prints shall be accepted. Each photographer can enter a maximum of four (4) prints. Photographs previously exhibited at one of the PHOTOMEDIA Salons shall not be accepted.

Themed around the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the two-day public event aims to motivate people, through the medium of short films, to make a difference. We believe in the power of films, and through EIGHT we want to bring the fields of social cause, entertainment and creative expression on the same stage. The MDGs are a series of 8 international development goals which 192 UN member countries have pledged to achieve by 2015and spur development by improving social and economic conditions in the world’s poorest countries

Format of the Short Films:
Fiction, animation, live footage, imagery, narrative, or any radical style.

The Aperture Light Photo Competition of the Year 2010

Introduction:
The Aperture Light Photo of the competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers of any nationality. Its aim is to reveal the most inspirational and innovative images. As always, we’ve made a number of improvements to the contest. Photographers can edit their current contest entries any time after uploading the images. We’ve also clarified a number of rules. Please read the rule carefully before entering in Photo of the Year and Photo of the Month contest. The competition is open for entries until the end of December, At January 2011 a final shortlist and winners will be announced, followed by Honorable mentions and overall winner, as selected by a panel of judges.

This is one of the world’s biggest photography competitions and we look forward to seeing your pictures.

Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival One-Act Play Contest 2010

Introduction:
The Festival is pleased to announce our 2011 One-Act Play Contest. We will be accepting submissions by mail and online from June 1, 2010—November 1, 2010.

Eligibility:
Plays must not have been previously produced, published or performed, including in a formal staged reading. “Workshopped” readings are accepted provided that the audience was limited to participants of that workshop.
Students and faculty of the University of New Orleans FTCA and Creative Writing Workshop are ineligible. Plays that won this contest in previous years are ineligible; their authors remain eligible but must submit new work.
Plays submitted to this contest in previous years that did not win are eligible. Plays that have won any other playwriting contest are ineligible.
Simultaneous submissions accepted; please notify the Festival if your play is accepted elsewhere.

His nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times, The Village Voice, SPY, and The East Hampton Star, and on mrbellersneighborhood.com. A recipient of the Whiting Writers’ Award, he has taught MFA writing at Columbia University. He currently teaches privately in New York City, and is an advisor to the Vilcek Foundation for their 2011 prizes in the field of literature. Rick is the editor of the new online literary journal, anderbo.com.
