Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) – Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University 

Introduction: The MCA programme was introduced in 2005, in the School of Mathematical Sciences & Engineering. The programme designed to generate trained manpower with expertise in the latest applications of computer technology has earned recognition and funds from AICTE. The School has latest state-of-art laboratories and 24 hour internet connectivity through dedicated RF-Link with 1Mbps speed. The resident faculty involved in teaching comprises dedicated young professionals holding experience and expertise in hard and software. Distinguished guest faculty from reputed institutions of the country is periodically involved in the teaching programme to expose students to the best of minds in the field. The Department has necessary infrastructure and ideal ambience for teaching-learning process.This year the School has established a full-fledged Coaching-cum-Placement Cell manned by professionals to train students in Communicative English, the requirements of corporate world, oral presentation and personality development. The aim is to produce chiseled men and women computer-professionals capable of finding high profile placements in corporate world within and outside the country.

Course Details: The MCA programme is full time, 6 semesters, resident programme. MCA degree is awarded to students who attend and pass 25 theory and 10 laboratory courses and undertake project work in different public and private sector institutions to acquire real-life practical training that can help them in finding proper placement. The course curriculum has provision of 10 electives wherefrom the students have the choice to offer any two.

Eligibility: Bachelors’ degree of 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline or any other degree recognized equivalent thereto from any recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribe categories).Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination or those whose result of the same is awaited, can also apply provisionally for appearing in the entrance test.
