B.A. (Honours) Admission 2009 – DAV College – Chandigarh

Course Details:
The B.A. Honours Course carries 28 credits (each credits carrying the equivalence of 100 marks). Apart from the structure of the programme of study prescribed for the B.A. (General) degree course, credit value of the subjects/papers and hours of teaching allocated to them, the honours course includes 4 papers of I credit each of an advanced nature in one of the elective subjects the student shall study in all the three years of the degree course.

Eligibility:
The students seeking admission on the basis of having passed their lower examination from Board/University other than Panjab University are advised to submit their original migration and marks sheet at the time of admission. For admission to Diploma / Certificate courses a ‘No objection Certificate’ from the Parent University / Institution is to be submitted in place of Migration certificate. Marks would be verified from the Result Gazette. If Gazette is not available with the college, the student should submit an affidavit to the effect that if the documents affidavit to the effect that if the documents the course is liable to be cancelled.

Selection Procedure:
Students are admitted to the college on the basis of merit and an interview conducted by the Admission Committee. Candidates must present themselves for the interview at the time of admission. Candidates who do not appear for the interview will not be considered for admission. The candidates must produce all the relevant certificates inoriginal for the verification at the time of interview failing which they will not be considered for admission. The college reserves the right to refuse admission to any student without assigning any reason.

Admission Procedure:
The following documents should be attached to the application form for admission. Self attested copies of Board or University Certificates showing the date of birth and details of previous examinations passed and detailed marks certificates. Self attested copy of the certificate of good conduct from Head of the Institution last attended. Three copies of recent passport size photograph. (One pasted, two stapled). A Declaration showing that he/she has not been disqualified by any University/ Board. A student will have to submit a personal affidavit about the marks to the college in case the result gazette is not available with the college. Certificates relevant to claim any reserved category status. Affidavit explaining gap year / years, if any. Eligibility Certificate, wherever applicable.
